ACTA is a collaborative venture involving the Faculties of Dentistry of the University of Amsterdam and VU University Amsterdam. ACTA conducts scientific research, provides educational programmes, and delivers patient care in the field of dentistry. In international circles, ACTA ranks among the leaders in dental education and research.
ACTA’s workforce consists of approximately 950 dental professionals, and approximately 950 students who are enrolled in the Dentistry programme. ACTA delivers dental care daily to approximately 300 patients.
In 2017 ACTA renewed one of its facilities, the Skillslab, which is a simulation clinic for students to learn how to treat patients. Phantom heads are essential for students to practice on how to use the dental equipment and instruments in a correct and safe way.
Finndent won the public tender for the clinic equipment and 198 of the FD Phantom simulation units were delivered and installed in Amsterdam with the local partner AllDent. The deal was one of the biggest within the European dental market during 2016. The FD Phantom simulation units were designed and built to order with ACTA to meet their needs perfectly.
With Finndent’s maintenance concept we were able to significantly lower the maintenance and service costs of the simulation units.
