Finnish dentist Matti Aukia (nowadays also an industrial designer) graduated three years ago from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki. He concentrated in his final paper in service design of Helsinki City council owned clinic Meilahti. According to Wikipedia – Service design is the activity of planning and organizing people, infrastructure, communication and material components of a service in order to improve its quality and the interaction between the service provider and its customers. Service design may function as a way to inform changes to an existing service or create a new service entirely.
Design thinking refers to creative strategies designers use during the process of designing. It has also been developed as an approach to resolve issues outside of professional design practice, such as in business and social contexts.
